HSA statistics show that small to medium size enterprises find the issue of managing safety and health very challenging and accidents from this sector feature strongly in the annual HSA accident figures. The economic conditions that exist at the moment have meant that individuals who have been made unemployed have started new small enterprises and we know that these companies are challenged by the safety and health function. The CSP has developed a number of tools to assist this sector and needs to roll out these resources in order for them to be effective.

Explore options to increase awareness of Construction Safety issues and best practice for Domestic Clients.

“Safety Management Pack for Contractors Employing 20 or less Employees” (SMP 20)
The aim of the pack is to assist small Contractors in establishing and maintaining an effective safety management system. The pack gives details of statutory health and safety duties and provides guidance and tools to enable compliance with these duties.
This document is intended to be your roadmap to managing Safety and Health. The document includes new guidance on basic risk assessment and worked examples intended to assist you in carrying out you own specific risk assessment. If you are already using SMP20 and require further forms to complete and to attach into your SMP20 pack, you can download a complete set through the link below. However it should be noted that if you are replacing used forms with new forms e.g. you have moved to a new site or a particular task/work activity is completed etc, we recommend that these used forms be stored on a site by site basis for record retrieval purposes.

SMP20 replacement forms can now be individually selected, filled out on line and printed. Click on the link below, select the form you require, fill in your information on line and print.
Note: a number of SMP20 forms require a signature, these signature spaces are highlighted with a “Sign here” tag, such signatures are required to be made on the printed paper copy.

SMP20 Packs are only available through attendance at Workshops which are scheduled as follows;
The Dublin workshop has been rolled out by two weeks until APRIL 29th from 0830 - 1200 at Construction Industry Federation Offices, Canal Road, Dublin 6.
MAY 31ST, 0830 - 1200, Cork - Silver Springs Moran Hotel, Tivoli, Cork.
The cost of the workshop is €80 per person attending which includes the SMP20 pack.
