| INTRODUCTION |
If the elected Safety Rep-resentative has not received relevant training and regular updates within the previous 3 years, then training must be given to enable him her to fulfil his/her duties. Relevant training in this instance shall be an approved Safety Rep-resentative Training course relevant to the construction industry and Irish safety legislation. The ICTU/CIF Construction Safety Rep-resentative Course, with FETAC Certification is a Construction Safety Partner-ship approved course. Regular updates may be in the form of in-house Tool-Box-Talks (T.B.T’s). |

The Safety Representative must be given reasonable time off work without loss of earnings to acquire training that will enable him/her to function effectively. The contractor and the Project Supervisor (Construction Stage) must also provide training and information to the Safety Rep-resentative on the specific hazards and safe systems of work at the site. |
