However within his/her role as a Safety Representative he/she should actively encourage workers to report and highlight unsafe conditions and practices. Where a worker high-lights unsafe conditions or practices to the Safety Representative, this must be brought to the attention of the relevant management party. As a trained Safety Rep-resentative if he/she is of the view that there is |
serious or imminent danger to a person or persons, then this risk must be reported immediately to the relevant management party. Where the Safety Representative is asked by a worker to highlight an unsatisfactory condition or practice, then this can be rep-orted at an agreed time to Site Management, e.g. before or after a rest period or at the end of the working day, whichever is sooner. |
When the Safety Rep-resentative makes a representation to the relevant management party, they MUST consider these rep-resentations and act on them as appropriate. If it is not practicable to put suggestions made, into effect, then the relevant management party should explain the reason(s) for this. CONTINUE TO: |
